Booking & Policies

How do I book an appointment?

All in studio appointments can be booked online through our website. On location makeup, weddings, and group parties must be requested via email.

Do you accept bookings via text or phone?

No. To keep scheduling accurate and organized, appointments are no longer accepted via text or phone. Please use the online booking system. Please email with any questions or booking issues. 

is a deposit required?

Deposits are required for all services, weddings and parties. Deposits are non-refundable and applied to your final balance. Deposits are forfeited if appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of your scheduled time, there is a no show, or you are more than 10 minutes late to your appointment. 

What is your cancelation policy?

Appointments may be moved, adjusted or canceled up to 24 hours before your appointment. After the 24-hour period you may email TheCosmeticWorkshop@gmail.com to cancel or reschedule your appointment, your 50% deposit will be forfeited once you are outside of the 24-hour window. We understand that emergencies come up, if you have special circumstances, please let us know. 

Skincare & Body Treatments

Do you offer Spray tans?

Yes. The Cosmetic Workshop is the only studio in Kensington, MD offering professional spray tanning services.

How should I prepare for my spray tan?

Upon booking your appointment full before and after instructions will be emailed to you.

How should I prepare for body waxing?

Exfoliation is recommended prior to your visit. No retinol, Retin A, acne medications, or actives for 5 days before facial waxing.

Makeup Services

Are lashes included with makeup?

Yes. Lashes are included with all makeup applications. They are not included in makeup parties.

What should I bring to my Makeuplesson?

Bring whatever makeup you usually use. We will work with what you already have and make suggestions for anything that might be better for your routine. Don't have any makeup? No problem, there is plenty to use at the studio.

Parties and Events

How many people are required for a party?

A minimum of 4 people is required for a makeup or skincare party. We can accommodate up to 8 people.

When are parties available?

Parties are available Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday evenings.

On Location and Bridal

How far in advance should I book bridal makeup?

Bridal and on location services should be booked as early as possible to secure your date, especially during peak wedding season. You may email TheCosmeticWorkshop@gmail.com for inquiries. 

Where are bridal trials held?

All bridal trials are completed in studio at The Cosmetic Workshop.
